Claude Edited My Video Without Opening CapCut. I Still Can't Believe It

I asked Claude a question I assumed the answer to was no: can you go into my CapCut project and add these quote cards where they belong? It could not drive the CapCut app, but it edited the project file on my computer directly. When I reopened CapCut, seven cards sat on the timeline, synced to the moment I say each word.

Recorded live on September 17, 2026. Unscripted, so the transcript below is lightly cleaned up, not rewritten. Watch on YouTube.

What I covered

The short version.

  • The problem. Our Q4 Blitz video asks agents to track six numbers. Six numbers spoken out loud is too much to follow.
  • Claude designed the cards. Seven quote cards in our design system: one with all six numbers, and one with each number highlighted.
  • Then it placed them. It found where I say each word in the project and put every card there. An hour or two of my time took Claude seconds.
  • Quit CapCut first. Close CapCut before Claude writes to the file, then reopen it. I also had it add zoom-ins on rough jump cuts.

The adrenaline rush of figuring out something new with AI. When you get it to do something that you previously thought was impossible, and I had that experience last night, and I just have to share it with everybody really quick. This is my second time going live this morning. I just finished rewatching the first one. It was a train wreck. Somehow I had to reconnect my YouTube live stream to my Riverside account, and it changed the dimensions, and it my screen share didn't work right. So, if you watched my first live share already, I apologize. That one was a train wreck. I'm going to leave it up cuz it had a good amount of views, but I'm redoing it.

So hopefully more people will get a chance to watch this one. But basically I used Claude last night for something new. And not only did it work, it exceeded my expectations, and I am so excited about the possibilities that I think I'm on the verge of unlocking here. I just had to share it with everybody. But more importantly, I just love this like again I this adrenaline rush of like I don't even think Claude can do this, but I'm just going to ask and see what happens. And then when it actually does it better than you thought it was going to be able to, like that just that feeling is the best. So, I was working on editing one of our future videos last night, and there was a part of the video where I need to share six different numbers.

There's actually several parts in the video where I've got to share these six different numbers. And when you just hear it verbally, it's like you can't process these six different numbers that I'm going to need to start tracking all at once because it's just it's just too much. It's like trying to remember a serial number on a dollar bill or something like your brain just can't hold all that. So, I felt like I needed a visual. Now, of course Claude, we all know can already make the visual. So, I just went into Claude and said, "Hey, I need a visual." Claude already helped me write the script for the video. So, I just went in and said, "Hey, I need a visual for this section, like a quote card type thing that's going to show these six numbers so that people can see it visually when I'm talking about it on the screen." And so, I asked Claude to make that visual, but it did it a little differently than I wanted one quote card with the six numbers.

Well, it decided to make seven quote cards. One with all six numbers and then six more with each number highlighted like a like a you know, almost like a PowerPoint presentation when the this number is highlighted it turns red when we're talking about it. And so seven different quote cards that need to be inserted into this video and it ultimately made me feel like that's going to be a little difficult to edit in. Like it's going to be hard for me to make sure that each quote card's in the exact right spot and it ends and starts at you know, as soon as I finish that word and start the next word. It's all very close together. I'm not very good at editing.

I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to do it and it just felt like it was going to I should I knew I could do it, but I felt like it was going to be time consuming. I felt like it was going to take me 2 hours to get it right. And so I just asked Claude. I was like, "Hey, you're you're not able to go into my CapCut and edit that for me, are you?" I'm just being lazy kind of moment. And Claude was like, "Well, I could try, but it's going to be clunky because I've got to kind of steer their user interface and it's it's not going to go well and you're not going to like it and you're going to smoke a lot of tokens." but what you can do is just exit CapCut cuz CapCut keeps a file of the video that you're editing on your device.

So, just exit CapCut and I can go into the video file and edit these as long as there's transcriptions I'll be able to read the transcriptions. I'll see exactly when you're saying each of those words and I'll put the quote cards in there for you. And I was like, "There's no way. There's no way that Claude can actually go into this file and manually edit it for me and then I'm just supposed to open it back up in CapCut and poof it's there?" Well, guess what? It worked. It like totally worked and totally exceeded my expectations. I'm going to attempt to show you this little portion of the video. I showed it in my earlier stream this morning that didn't go well and the audio does not come through very well.

I maybe I maybe I can try to move the microphone closer to my computer and see if see if that'll help us pick up more of the audio from the video, but it's not really about the audio, it's about how Claude it was able to add these it's about how Claude was able to add these images into the editing for me without me doing it, and it finished it in like again I'm guessing it probably would have taken me 2 hours or an hour to get it right. Claude finished it in a matter of seconds. So, let me jump into a screen share and show you this. I think it's super cool. And again, this is going to be in my CapCut editor the way we're viewing it, so it's not you know, totally beautiful and everything yet.

It's still in the process of being edited, but you see these guys up here, these are the quote cards. And then right here on the timeline is where they all get added, so let's check it out. >> So, send it to them. Three, six numbers, past client and sphere conversations, other conversations, appointment set, appointments held, open houses, personal touches. You choose the targets, you do not get to choose the list of what you're tracking. And four, every week you get an execution score. What percentage of what you said you do >> Okay, hopefully that worked better than the version that I already tried earlier this morning where the screen share didn't quite work right.

So, again, all of those little image tiles were added for me by Claude. So, then after that I was like, well, wonder what else you could do for me. So, I started asking it to fix some of the some of the jump scene you know, I want to try to zoom in or zoom out when there's rough transitions, and it started doing some of that. I'm still playing with it. I'm going to see what else it's able to do in the raw file itself, not inside of CapCut but I've never had so much fun editing a video before. So, if you haven't tried this, go check it out. Hope you found this helpful. Hope you have a
