The reason your blogs aren’t ranking

AI made it easy to write an article in ten minutes. But easy content doesn’t automatically mean discoverable content — and the gap is usually structure.

A lot of agents are starting to blog again. AI made it easier — you can write an article in ten minutes. Booya, right?

But here’s the problem most people don’t realise: easy content doesn’t automatically mean discoverable content.

10

minutes to write it with AI. That was never the hard part.

2

minutes to check it before you publish

2

free custom GPTs that run the check for you

Google — and now AI search tools — don’t just read your blog. They try to understand it. They’re looking for signals that answer questions like:

  • Does this person actually know what they’re talking about?
  • Is the information structured in a way that’s easy to interpret?
  • Does this content actually help someone searching for answers?

If the structure is messy or the credibility signals are weak, your article may never show up — even if the information is good.

So here’s a simple two-minute check you should run before publishing any blog.

One of my amazing coaching clients and friends, Mike Renick, created two custom GPTs that make this incredibly easy. Watch his video explaining everything before you jump in — it makes things make so much more sense if you’re not an AI nerd.

The two tools

1

E-E-A-T Blog Grader.Looks for Google’s credibility signals: experience, expertise, authority and trust. Paste in your article and it tells you where to add expertise, where personal experience would strengthen the piece, and how to improve credibility signals.

2

Blog Structure Auditor.Evaluates how well your article is organised — headings and hierarchy, topic coverage, flow, and whether the structure makes sense for search engines. Think of it like spellcheck for SEO.

A small tweak to structure or credibility can be the difference between a blog that sits quietly and one that actually gets discovered.

Questions I get about this one

Does Google penalise AI-written content? That isn’t really the question. What gets ignored is content with no experience in it and no structure to interpret. AI can draft; you have to add the part only you have — what you actually saw happen with a real client.

Which of the two matters more? Structure gets you readable, credibility gets you trusted. If you only have two minutes, run the structure audit — a well-organised article with thin credibility still surfaces, but a credible article nobody can parse often doesn’t.
