Not a rung · Claude Design

What shows up in your seller’s inbox on Tuesday is what they think of you. The finish work is not the optional part.

The walkthrough

Your seller never sees the work. They see what lands in their inbox.

Everything we’ve talked about for six videos happens somewhere your client never sees. The gathering. The thinking. The numbers. The organizing. Your seller doesn’t see any of that.

They see what shows up in their inbox on Tuesday.

And I want to be blunt about this

I’ve been doing this a long time. What shows up in their inbox is what they think of you. Not how hard you worked. Not how good your data was. What it looked like when it landed.

Construction, and finish work

Everything else on this ladder is the construction. This is the finish work — the paint, the siding, the trim.

And I know how that sounds. Like the optional part, the nice-to-have you get to if there’s time. It is not. Nobody buys a house with no siding on it, and no seller reads a market update that looks like a wall of text.

The construction is what makes it true. The finish work is what makes somebody actually want it.

What I have made with it

  • A weekly seller update — real numbers, real listing, about four minutes.
  • A one-page market summary I hand to buyers before we go out.
  • A net sheet.
  • A listing presentation page.

I did not pick a template and pour my information into it

I gave Claude the actual data — the real numbers, out of the real workbook — and said build me something that shows this. It designed around what I had.

And no, this does not replace Canva

I use Canva. A lot of you use Canva. Kelcie on our team is very good at Canva. Here’s the actual difference.

ToolWhere it starts
CanvaStarts with a template, and you fill it in. You are doing the arranging. Beautiful template, and you need to drop this week’s numbers into it? That is Canva, and Canva is better at it.
Claude DesignStarts with your information, and builds around it. It is doing the arranging. A pile of data and no idea what shape it should be? That is this.

And here is the piece I really want you to hear

Because you have to come back and change it. Next week those numbers are different — and you don’t start over. You say: here’s this week’s data, update it. Or, make the price section bigger. Or, my seller hated the blue.

You’re just talking to it. That’s the whole thing.

Which brings me to why this is not a rung

Rungs are about how much you’ve handed over. Rung one, you’re doing everything. Rung six, it’s reaching things on its own. Design isn’t that. It’s not more handed over — it’s where the work takes shape.

Which means you don’t have to climb anything to get to it. You can be on rung one — you, a chat window, no projects, no skills, none of it — and you can hand it your numbers today and get something back that looks like you paid somebody. That’s true right now, before you set up a single other thing on this ladder.

So that is the ladder

Chat. Projects. Connectors. Skills. Cowork. Claude in Chrome. And the finish work, sitting right there beside all of it.

If you’re at the bottom, that’s fine — that’s where everybody starts, including me. The only thing I’d tell you is don’t stay there for eight months. Pick the next rung. Just one.

Because the agent who gets good at this over the next year isn’t going to be the one who knew about it first. It’s going to be the one who actually climbed.

This page is the map. That one is the build: set Claude Design up once with your colors, your fonts and your voice, and everything it makes after that comes out looking like you.

Questions agents ask

The three that come up.

Does this replace Canva?

No. I use Canva, a lot of you use Canva, and Kelcie on our team is very good at it. Here is the actual difference: Canva starts with a template and you fill it in — you are doing the arranging. Design starts with your information and builds around it — it is doing the arranging. Beautiful template, this week’s numbers? That is Canva, and Canva is better at it. A pile of data and no idea what shape it should be? That is this.

Do I have to climb the ladder first?

No. Design is not about handing over more work, so you can reach it from anywhere — you can be on rung one, in a chat window, with no projects and no skills, hand it your numbers today, and get something back that looks like you paid somebody. That is true right now, before you set up a single other thing.

Can I change it next week?

That is the point. Next week those numbers are different, and you do not start over. You say: here is this week’s data, update it. Or make the price section bigger. Or my seller hated the blue. You are just talking to it. That is the whole thing.
